About Us
Effective Date: 15/08/2026
Last Updated: 15/08/2026
Karnataka Dispatch is an independent digital news and public-interest journalism platform focused on Karnataka, India, and the world.
We believe journalism is not merely about reporting what happened. It is about helping people understand why something happened, who is affected, what evidence exists, and what it means for society.
Our journalism covers Karnataka's politics, governance, economy, business, Bengaluru, districts, agriculture, science, health, education, technology, culture, sports, and issues that affect everyday life. We also publish explainers, ground reports, investigations, interviews, opinion, and editorial content.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide journalism that is:
- Accurate — We make reasonable efforts to verify facts before publication.
- Independent — Editorial decisions should not be determined by political, commercial, or personal interests.
- Relevant — We focus on issues that matter to people and communities.
- Accessible — We aim to explain complex subjects in clear language.
- Accountable — When we make significant errors, we seek to acknowledge and correct them.
- Inclusive — We seek voices and perspectives from different sections of Karnataka and beyond.
Journalism First
Karnataka Dispatch distinguishes editorial content from advertising, sponsorship, and other commercial communication.
Advertisers, sponsors, commercial partners, and other external organisations do not have the right to determine our editorial conclusions merely because they support our business.
Where appropriate, we identify sponsored, promotional, or commercial content so that readers can distinguish it from independent editorial journalism.
Our Approach to Sources
We use publicly available information, official documents, data, field reporting, interviews, expert opinions, community sources, and other credible sources in our journalism.
We understand that information supplied by a source may not always be complete or correct. Where practical, important claims are independently verified before publication.
Anonymous sources may be used when there is a legitimate public-interest reason to protect the source's identity. Such decisions are made editorially.
Corrections and Accountability
Accuracy is fundamental to our work.
If Karnataka Dispatch identifies a material factual error in published content, we may correct the article, update relevant information, or publish a clarification, depending on the nature of the error.
Readers may bring potential factual errors to our attention through our official contact channels.
Opinion and Editorial Content
Opinions, columns, analysis, and editorials represent the views of their respective authors or the editorial position identified with the content.
They should not automatically be interpreted as factual reporting.
Where a contribution is commissioned or submitted by an external contributor, Karnataka Dispatch may edit it for clarity, accuracy, legal compliance, style, and editorial standards.
User Contributions
Karnataka Dispatch may accept story tips, photographs, videos, documents, opinions, and other material from readers and contributors.
Submitting material does not guarantee publication.
We may verify, edit, reject, or remove submitted material.
Contributors should not submit material that they do not have the right to share or that unlawfully discloses another person's private or confidential information.
Corrections, Complaints and Feedback
We welcome factual corrections, complaints about our journalism, and suggestions from readers.
